Aamir was deported from Canada after committing one of Canada’s seven capital offenses- mistaking a hockey skate for a figure skate. After spending his first year Stateside trying to figure out why we didn’t have two-dollar coins, he settled in the only city directly north of Canada (Detroit) so he could always say he was looking down on his home country.
Aamir came to UC for residency thanks to their trademark “growth mindset”, which all Toronto Maple Leafs fans have adopted as a coping mechanism for their various playoff exits. After a year as a hospitalist at the VA- he was feeling nostalgic for something akin to the Canadian health care system- he joined the UC PCCM family. His research interests include the study of maple syrup in sepsis and correlating poutine intake with the development of ILD.
In his free time, he enjoys traveling to far-away, mythical lands like Vancouver, power-ranking Cincinnati margarita and taco joints, and sing/screaming the male part of Evanescence’s “Bring Me To Life”. All of these are true.
